Free community event celebrating the heritage of Clough Hall Park – this time celebrating its sporting heritage from when it was the Paradise of the Potteries. Take part in a range of sporting activities and games.

Free community event celebrating the heritage of the park – this time themed around the more acrobatic elements of the park’s history.
28 May from 14:00–18:00, Clough Hall Park, Free entry.
Confirmed acts include Paul Silver, fire performer, stilt walker and statue, Dawn Rowley’s Dance Academy who will be running dance workshops and their young dancers will be doing a performance for all to enjoy and FlowBalance doing slack-lining and Indo Balance Board workshops and performances.
Thanks to National Lottery players funding is still available for community groups, schools, churches and other not-for-profit groups to celebrate their areas’ heritage. Groups can also apply for a grant to learn about the First World War 100 years after the guns fell silent on 11 November 2018. If your group has an idea and are interested in funding then join HLF for a drop in session between 2-6pm Tuesday 22 May at Butt Lane Community Centre.
As part of the community involvement element of the Heritage Lottery Fund award for Kidsgrove Heritage Trail, Go Kidsgrove are asking for original poetry on the theme of Kidsgrove’s history and heritage.
The poems should be brought to The Rifleman to be read out with the possibility of them being printed in a booklet later this year.
If you would like someone else to read out your poem for you, there will be readers available on the night.
Please ensure you arrive before 7.30pm in order to give us the most time to hear everyone’s poetry.
Free snacks will be available during the interval.
You will also be very welcome to attend, just to listen.

Family fun round the shops of Kidsgrove and Butt Lane! How many little lost lambs can you find, hidden in shop windows of Kidsgrove and Butt Lane?
Pick up a trail leaflet fro Kidsgrove Library or participating shops, write the names of the lambs in the appropriate space on the leaflet. When you have collected 25 or more names take your leaflet back to Kidsgrove Library and collect an Easter treat as a reward.
Runs to 11th April. FREE.
