To coincide with the centenary of The Battle of Passchendaele, Â Kidsgrove Writers’ Group (KWG) are hosting an exhibition of photographs, posters, and personal memorabilia from WW1, together with paintings from local schoolchildren.
Doors open approx 9.30 am – FREE ADMISSION
Confirmed Programme times will be as follows:-
10.00 am – Opening and Welcome
10.15 am – Kidsgrove and WW1 – talk by Philip Leese
10.45 am – Poetry & Prose readings by Kidsgrove Writers’ Group
11.30 am – Music of the era interspersed by readings of poems by WW1 poet Wilfred Owen
Noon – Lunch break – time to view the exhibited items and to purchase drinks, and food from the BBQ
2.00 pm – Readings by the general public welcomed, and further readings from Kidsgrove Writers’ group
3.30 pm – Community singing of songs from the era, accompanied by Margaret Jenks
4.30 pm – Last opportunity to view the exhibited items and writings and artwork
5.00 pm – Thank you – Exhibition closes

Refreshments will be on sale during the two-hour lunch break, with opportunity to view the exhibits.
