Readings at the Rifleman

As part of the community involvement element of the Heritage Lottery Fund award for Kidsgrove Heritage Trail, Go Kidsgrove are asking for original poetry on the theme of Kidsgrove’s history and heritage.

The poems should be brought to The Rifleman to be read out with the possibility of them being printed in a booklet later this year.
If you would like someone else to read out your poem for you, there will be readers available on the night.

Please ensure you arrive before 7.30pm in order to give us the most time to hear everyone’s poetry.

Free snacks will be available during the interval.

You will also be very welcome to attend, just to listen.

We look forward to hearing your poetry, and thank you all for your support.

Free to attend – everyone is welcome.

Storytime at the pub

We’re moving out of our comfort zone for April’s ‘Story Time At The Pub’. Either an account of a time when you felt out of your comfort zone OR take yourself outside this zone with your writing. Just a suggestion – not a three line whip!” Obviously, if this isn’t your cup-of-tea, all short stories are also welcome.

Please collect your drinks at the downstairs bar, and then join us upstairs (where there is more room – we were getting a little snug downstairs), – readings to start as near to 7pm as possible, to give everyone who wishes to, a chance to read.

Everyone welcome, whether reading or just listening, and as always – Free Admission.
